Add external link to main (category navigation)

I need to add a link to the main navigation within the category ul – the link I need to add is a to link to an external site and nothing within shoppica or OpenCart. I see in the header.tpl around line 173

<?php echo $this->document->shoppica_categories;  ?>

which outputs the categories. I have searched all of the source code for references to shoppica_categories in order to find how to inject my own link and have it output in the same ul as the categories.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
