Hi again!

When I use the spanish language in the store, every time I add a product to the cart the pop up just doesn’t show; but in english it does! What can that be? I have to refresh, or go to the cart to see the product added.

Also, when I go to checkout with the spanish language, the checkout options are not loaded; only the four accordion titles are loaded but there is nothing in between them. BUT again, when I use english the whole checkout process options are shown, asking if it’s a new customer or a returning one, etc…I don’t know why is this happening, because the spanish translation for the checkout process exist, I checked it.

I isolate the issue, and it’s solely related to having spanish as the front language rather than english; just don’t know how it is affecting those things. Please help!

Hi!

I checked both catalog/language/english/module/shoppica.php and
catalog/language/spanish/module/shoppica.php ; in the spanish/module/shoppica.php there were some missing variables. I added them, but it still doesn’t show the pop up when a product is added, nor it shows the checkout info inside each options, just the titles (PAYMENT OPTIONS, ACCOUNT & BILLING DETAILS, etc…)

BUT, the only difference is that now when I hover the cart to see my products, and I delete one it shows me the pop up with the Product removed from Cart! text in spanish.

I don’t know what is missing here; I really need my cart to be working 100% in spanish because that’s my market. Please help! What else can I check for this?!?!

Now I think I isolated the problem a bit more:

I copied the english/module/shoppica.php to the /spanish/module directory, and everything worked out fine. I started translating one by one, until I found (maybe) the problem.

I found out that in the variable $_['shoppica_text_title_add_cart'] if I use special characters of the spanish keyboard(particularly the ñ and spanish accent like á é í ó ú ) the string gives a null value when the pop up is shown

I believe that this is what makes the pop up fail, because it can’t recognize the character. Could it be that? How can this be fixed?

I’ve attached you the fixed catalog/language/spanish/module/shoppica.php.
The problem was the encoding. you have saved the file with Western European (windows-1252) encoding. All of the opencart/shoppica files MUST be saved with UTF-8 encoding, without BOM signature. You can use spanish special symbols without issues now.
