Something I’d love to be able to do with Shoppica and perhaps others would too?

The Product Image Slideshow is nice, but I’d like to have an identical looking Slideshow which instead of promoting Products showed specified CATEGORIES instead. It could use the Category Name, Description text and Image data from the standard fields in the OpenCart Catalog and when clicked take visitors to the Category page & show products or sub categories – just like choosing a category from the Top Menu.

This can almost be achived with an Image Slideshow in Shoppica, but it means manually creating the images and applying names & description text for each & every category, grabbing their URLs and pasting into Shoppica. Any future changes would then mean editing and re-uploading new images.

If the ‘Category Slideshow’ I’m proposing pulled in standard OC Category names, descriptions and images it would be a breeze.
