@ Wtpl Hi, I had the same problem. Themeburn Support was not able to help me out, so I had to find the solution myself.
They gave the instruction to change the code in common.js. But this is not correct, you should add:
window.location=’index.php?route=checkout/cart’;
In the product.tpl file.
I hope I helped you with this.

interesting, I was having the same problem that jamesepain had and I bought simple register extension to reduce the information requested in one page.
Luckily I am selling one product so I created a welcome page, added my product info, removed the title and created a buy now button and linked it to the checkout page.
From admin area , I went to the simple register extension and added the cart to the checkout page so the shopper have 2 clicks only to finish his order .Buy now and place the order.
in the check out page he sees his cart, writes his info and finish his order.
