Another version another problem

This topic has been marked as resolved.

Following the release of Shoppica 2 I installed it and have been working through the conflict issues with extensions that occurred as I wanted to be using the latest version of Shoppica because of the added features.

But with two steps forward its three steps back as one such extension that I paid a reasonable amount of money for cannot be made to work via the vQmod that worked very well on the previous Shoppica http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route=account/download/info&order_id=103177

I doubt this will be the first extension with issues… I am trying at the moment to see if the developer can help get it working with Shoppica 2 but to be fair is it his responsibility? After all Shoppica is only a theme and the vast majority of other themes can use the many extensions available without having to get the developer of the extension to recode or add code to an extension that is made to work with the version of Opencart that they have installed.

I appreciate to make a decent theme changes are needed and when I bought this theme it was the best available, some seven or so months later others have caught up and there is a decent set of themes available for Opencart, surely with problems like this happening it will make others not want Shoppica and look else where… Compatiblity is key surely? Then you can build around that….

Please do not think I am being nasty in this, I am just a small business owner who is trying to make the best ecommerce site that I can, and like many others, would like to do so with few problems along the way.

I hope that that you will be able to help in someway in regards to this, I am sure the developer would not mind you contacting him or if not provide ways this could work as there are at least two Shoppica theme owners having this problem.

Hi,

Which is the extension that you are talking about?

I had linked to it in the site, the good news is the developer has managed to get it working for shoppica 2! So happy its all working as it should.

I have noticed your unopened section on compatible extensions, as I have several I know to work with Shoppica would you like me to compose a list with links for you to put there as a start?

Thanks

Caz

p.s I do hope you didn’t take any offense to my first post, it was merely a chance for me to discuss the issues with you, I am overall happy with my experience with Shoppica and delighted with the support available as it means a great deal to know you have a knowledgeable and friendly helping hand when needed..

Hi Caz,

No offense taken, mate :)

Generally, we plan to start converting extensions to work with Shoppica 2, so this is the whole forum section about.

Best,
ThemeBurn team
