I was wondering, what would be the best way to use svg icons and logo in your template? Do I need to directly manipulate the tpls or is there a way to pass svg information though the page builder (as for the menu icons for example)?

Hi,

Unfortunately, the OC image manager does not handle svg images. You will need to manually edit templates in order to use this vector format.

We are considering to add the option to insert custom icons with your Icon List content block, but for the moment you don’t have this option.

Thanks for the reply. Just wanted to share, how I did it to insert SVG for logo and for category pics:
I used a modified upload function in order to be able to upload other file formats. I started with this extension (http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route=extension/extension/info&extension_id=1863). It’s pretty easy to modify. Looks very good on mobile. No blurry icons anymore.

Should somebody need the modified version, let me know and I will upload it.

Here it is…it’s a modified xml first published by Furqan Nadeem – I added svg support and a hack, that copies the svg to the cache folder, so it can be imported in the frontend.

Maybe someone takes a look and make it more efficient. As for now it does the trick. Please keep in mind, that you need to upload a svg_icon.png (and pdf icon png) as a placeholder for the filemanager.

Hi,

Can you please, put the xml mod in a zip file? Attached files can be only zip archives and jpgs.

Thanks,
