This topic has been marked as resolved.

Hi guys,

Hopefully a quick and easy one this….

I would like to be able to send out emails with the following links in

http://www.tysew.co.uk/sewing-machines?filter=MANUFFUNAM=Brother=11=Brands

(which would show a page with only Brother sewing machines on)

However the page is using the home page layout which pops up some banners and featured products which I dont want to use on those pages….

How can I make that page use the correct layout? eg the Category layout…

Many Thanks

Stuart

Hello Stuart,

Is this some third party extension? Does it have a custom route?

Generally, you need to create a new layout from Admin > System > Design > Layouts with the specific route for the filtered page.

Hi – Nope its not a third party extension – its the link that is generated form the brands function of Shoppica 2…. if you go to http://www.tysew.co.uk/ – then sewing machines, then pick a brand under the menu, you’ll see it is all generated by shoppica2….

Trouble is the page that gets generated is using the homepage layout and not the category layout…

Route for home page layout is – common/home
Route for Category layout is – product/category

Where is the page going that the shoppica menu generated the link too as it is using the home page layout…

Is there some special route that needs setting?

Thanks

Stuart

Hello Stuart,

The problem here is that these links are not generated by Shoppica :) Here is the original filter route: http://shoppica2.com/index.php?route=category/manufacturer&c_id=20&man_id=8

Have you modified the main navigation by hand, or it is a third party extension?

You can try to add an additional layout for our original route; maybe this will help:

Layout: Products by category and brands (or whatever you want)
Route: category/manufacturer

Ohhhhh – I wonder if my plugin – which I found through these pages is changing it?

The plugin is – Super Category Menu Advanced

I dont suppose you’d have any ideas?

Cheers for everything

Hi,

It is the layered navigation indeed :)

You can see the modded route here on the plugin demo page:

http://shoppica2.ocmodules.com/index.php?route=product/asearch&path=258&filter=MANUFFUNAM=Oak%20Hill=24=Brands

Try using their route for a new layout:

product/asearch
