I am wondering if there is an easy way to have Pavillion arrange a grid of categories on the home page?
What I am looking for is similar to a ‘latest items’ grid – though where each tile is actually a category. Surely this doesn’t have to be done manually?
I am finding the way the categories are listed a bit limiting – which is surprising as the rest of the theme seems highly adaptable and surely categories in a variety of displays is a common sort-after feature?
Am I missing something obvious?

Hi,
Unfortunately, there is no such functionality at this time, but we will surely add it in future versions.
For the moment you will have to use a third party extension:

@ploth A fairly easy workaround is to create a 3-4 column layout and use banners. You can then upload an image for each one and then link it to your category (e.g. yourdomain.com/category1).

@mmogamer Thank you for your suggestion – However that workaround is only really viable for a store with either a low number of categories – or a static category list. We have a continually updating & changing category list that would require considerable artwork and time to keep updating. I was hoping there was a template that would auto-update depending on the category tree…
