how to tweak SEO URLs

ThemeBurn SupportForumsOpenCart ThemesShoppica OpenCart Themehow to tweak SEO URLs

This topic has been marked as not resolved.

If I am using SEO URLs (in server settings) it gives me to optimize URLs to http://www.my-store.com/category/sub-category/product.html.
If I leave category and sub-category empty for (SEO names) then I get http://www.my-store.com/product.html witch is good in my opinion, but if I click on category link or sub-category link then I get regular not optimized url (like /category&path=66_75).

My question: is it possible to tweak it to get both things:
1) http://www.my-store.com/product.html for any product.
2) http://www.my-store.com/category for any category (or http://www.my-store.com/category/sub-category for any sub-category).

Thanks a lot.

Hello Eli,

Could you, please, give us your website to check. We are pretty sure SEO urls work exactly the way you want.

Best regards,

My website is http://www.chickenstitches.com. What I really would like is that all URLs from products, categories and subcategories will sit on top-level directly on the root.

Right now if turn on SEO and leave category’s and sub-category’s keyword empty – then all the products will sit on the root straight chickenstitches.com/product.html. But if I click on category – it will give me dynamic URL with ?= etc.

On another hand if I fill out keywords for categories and subcategories, and click on sub-category I will get chickenstitches.com/category/subcategory, witch is not so bed (ideally I would like to get chickenstitches.com/sub-category.html.)

But if I click on product I get chickenstitches.com/category/subcategory/product.html if I entered keyword for product, or chickenstitches.com/category/subcategory/product24?=33-44 etc if there is no keyword for the product.

Thank you.

Yes, and beside duplication there is problem of repeating keywords in the URL if one is in the category’s name and another in product’s name.
BTW plural and single forms considered as spam by search engines or not?

We don’t think this is considered as spam.
