icons not showing up in with “www.” before domain

I’m using OpenCart for my site. The icons  (i.e. like the flag icon, add to cart icon, add to wish list icon, etc.) fail to appear when you visit www.example.com but they do appear if you visit example.com.

Any ideas what is going on here?
