This topic has been marked as resolved.

Hi, this is my first time here and I have a couple of questions:

1) Reading your installation instructions for 2.x I found some diferences between the files I have installed on my server and the files yo show on your user´s manual. I´m enclosing a picture for you to figure out more clearly the matter.
My question is, everything is allright, or there is something wrong? only to be sure.

2) Another question, when we upload the template files to the server, we have to overwrite existing files?

Thanks for your help, have a nice day

I have uploaded the themplete files to the server, and the existing files there with the same name habe been overwrited by the new ones, as a result of it, the OpenCart admin panel has completely dissappeared.

So please tell me, how I can upload files to the server with the same name, whithout overwriting the existing ones.

Of course, I made a copy of the original files on server, but if I upload them, they will overwrite the theme files I have already uploaded. So how I can solve this problem since the files, both, have the same name?

I have uploaded again the original Opencart files on my server, I have reverse the situation, the OpenCart admin panel is working as ussual. But now I am stucked, I can not go further whithout your assistance. So please tell me, what to do next?

I´m following the user manual instructions, but I can not go further step 1:
http://docs.themeburn.com/burnengine/installation/opencart-2-x/

By chance, I went to the step 3, and found the “BurnEngine module option” so I hit install, and then enter to the BurnEngine administration module yes, it seems that the problem has been solved.

However, many customers could have the same negative impacts on them, as me. So my sugestion to you is to made the necesary and corresponding changes and corrections on your USER MANUAL, if you don´t do that, many of your customers will become mad like me.

I have spend all this morning with this problem, waste of time, to avoid that, you have to implement my suggestion.

Anyway, you have an answer pending to me, related to the attached screen picture, I´ll be waiting for your answer.

I was stucked again on step 4:
>>>In OpenCart admin panel go to System › Settings › Store Edit › Store › Template dropdown and choose BurnEngine<< System › Settings › Store Edit › Store › Template dropdown, and there is not template dropdown.
This is on > System › Settings › Store Edit › General (label), and the theme template by default is BurnEngine, so I suppose everything is allright, don´t you?

SUGESTION: Will be nice if you add this extra correction to the user´s manual, because not so many persons are acquainted of this matter, Is dificult to follow your guidelines, specially for beginners.

Hi,

Thanks for all your suggestions!

1) You are right that there are inconsistency in the screenshots and the folder structure from the documentation. This is due to differences in OC 2.x version. Maybe we could create separate pages for all 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3 installation guides, although our initial idea was to keep things simpler. The other problem is that we cannot predict what files could be inside your store’s root folder. E.g. in most cases the config-dist.php is renamed and not duplicated and should not be present.

Anyway, there is nothing wrong with your installation.

2) OpenCart interface has been changing from one minor version to another. We should add additional hint for the latest one here as well. Thanks for pointing this out.

Glad we’ve helped, mate :)

P.S. Videos are always the best way to create a “how to”, but unfortunately they take lots of time to be made.
