Hi,

You will need to have a working OpenCart installation, before you install Shoppica.

Here is a tutorial, how to install OpenCart: http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route=documentation/documentation&path=4

Silly question but can you get to your admin area? If so have you switched to the shoppica theme?

@lostserenade

Sorry for the misunderstanding, but we saw now, that everything works with the default theme installed.

Unfortunately, we cannot say too much only from this message. We will need the website live, so we could tell for sure. Hope you can put the website on some public server.

I’ve had this exact problem using my local server MAMP. I’ve tried installing it 3 ties but everytime I add the files to my WORKING (fresh install) of OC it crashes and I then can’t locate to the admin panel to switch themes.

This is the message I get..

Server error
The website encountered an error while retrieving http://localhost:8888/OpenCart/. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.
Here are some suggestions:
Reload this webpage later.
HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error): An unexpected condition was encountered while the server was attempting to fulfill the request.

Please advise.

@webfeetdesign are you using Shoppica 1 or Shoppica 2 ?

January 9, 2013 at 10:05 am #16957

Shoppica 2. I works great on a live hosted version of OC but not when trying to create a local version for testing.

@webfeetdesign we test Shoppica 2 on local installs with Linux/Windows and it works without issues. We even changed the apache port to be 8080 in order to match your configuration and we haven’t encountered problems as well.

We haven’t tested with MacOS however and we assume there could be issues. Currently we do not have plans to include local MacOS hosting in our tests, so you have to figure it out on your own somehow. If you are able to find the issue, we would be grateful if you share it with us.

Best Regards,
