Installing theme on a site with existing Shoppica 2 Theme – causes a lot of errors

Hi Guys,

Could you let us know if it is possible to install pavilion on a multi site with an existing Shoppica 2 theme all ready installed and if so how?

We have tried this once and had to revert to a backup – we had lots of issues which we worked through but finally had to revert to a backup.

The main issue we noticed was that when we installed the pavilion module then the sites using shoppica 2 reported the module was not installed.

It seems that either the pavilion or the shoppica 2 module could be active but not both of them at the same time.

If it is possible to have them both installed would be very greatful for some advice on what we need to do.

Thanks

Stuart

We are having the same issues – we haven’t heard back either.

We are also currently reverting back to a backup. Very disappointing if it is true that 2 themes by the same vendor can’t operate together – and if not that we weren’t warned.

@schford – we have tested thoroughly Pavilion and Shoppica together, but it seems some things escape our notice, so we’ll need to investigate what’s going on on your server. @ploth has similar issues and we suppose you both need the same fix.

Shoppica and Pavilion coexist in our testing servers, so we can’t do anything without inspecting your server. We will need the website url, admin and ftp access.

Thanks for coming back to me as the sites host 5 live stores on we cannot afford downtime for the customer, so I have completely replicated the environment to a different domain for you to ascertain the issue.

Currently I have installed pavilion in this dev enviroment at the following URL.

http://cerberon.biz

At this URL we can see that the pavilion theme is live however the first issue we have is that if you try and open a products page we get the following error

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘}’ in /home/tysdev/public_html/vqmod/vqcache/vq2-catalog_view_theme_pavilion_template_product_product.tpl on line 320

To see the issue with the shoppica theme that is installed on one of the multi store sites

http://tysew.cerberon.biz or http://industrial.cerberon.biz

Would appreciate if you could document steps to fix so I can do it on the live site when I install pavilion.

Many Thanks

Stuart

PS ignore the parse error – silly mistake on my behalf when I replicated the site.

It would appear that the only issue I now have is that none of the stores with shoppica 2 as the theme display…

@schford,

we uploaded a patch to your server that fixes the incompatibility issue. There is another error that is appearing now:

Fatal error: Call to a member function filter() on a non-object in /home/tysdev/public_html/vqmod/vqcache/vq2-catalog_view_theme_shoppica2_template_module_special.tpl on line 8

We think is not related to the theme (it’s vqmod), or at least to the discussed issue.

Thanks for looking guys – however what ever you have done now makes the site think Pavilion is not installed, so the original issue is still present. – see http://cerberon.biz

Could you fix this please :-) then look at whatever you have introduced with the patch that didnt fix the original issue I have.

Line 8 refers to the module Super Category Menu Advanced which was working perfectly before you installed your patch – see live site here http://tysew.co.uk/

In fact you guys helped me get it working with the live site – http://support.themeburn.com/topic/filtered-categories-not-using-category-layout-but-home-page-layout

Would really appreciate your help getting this resolved asap – as now my customer cannot even see and play with Pavilion on the dev site!

the Pavilion theme is working now – but something in your fix is causing that error now with the shoppica sites – it did not happen before your fix….

Could you look at this?

Thanks
