Intro slideshow resize

Hello there,

I have been searching high and low for a solution to this, however I am not aware that it has been posted before. On my intro slideshow I am using images that have a isolated background. I made sure to match up my images for the slideshow to the exact pixels to  that was being used in the default intro slideshow, however when I do this there is a floating light blue space on the bottom, left side and right side of the slideshow.  I am looking to fill this entire space with my slideshow images so that is no empty space.

This is what my slideshow currently looks like:

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q89/caseytraverse/intro_slideshow.jpg

[You will notice the red border around the light blue space, I highlighted that to display that this is what I am trying to resolve.]

What I would like to achieve is for the slideshow to look like this:

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q89/caseytraverse/intro_slideshow2.jpg

[I used photo editing software to display how I would like my slideshow to look, this is not a photo of the live site. It is a manipulation taken from what the slideshow currently looks like to visually display what I ultimately would like to achieve.]

Thanks in advanced for your help!

Casey

PS- I am using OpenCart v 1.5.1.3

Hello again,

Am I able to re-size the intro slideshow that the Shoppica theme provided or do I need to buy an extension to achieve what I am trying to do? I understand how to change the intro color, but I need the image to cover the entire dimensions of the slideshow so there is no background intro color showing.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Also, if I this is something I cannot do with the slideshow provided with the Shoppica theme could you kindly recommend a slideshow extension that would be able to achieve the desired results I am looking for that is also compatible with Shoppica?

Thanks again

Casey

Hello,

Is there anyway to overlap images over the padding on the slideshow?

I would like my intro to look like this:

http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q89/caseytraverse/intro_slideshow2.jpg

[Notice the Buddha head is overlapping the padding thus making it look a bit more natural]

When I add the suggested code [image in attached file] it takes away the blue but replaces it with white and the image does not look aligned properly.

Best regards
Casey

Hi Casey,

Have you tried to put larger images? :)

With the modification from above, the width of the slideshow becomes 998px. So your pictures should be 998px wide.

Hmmm..

I was just checking to make sure that this worked in all browsers and it works beautifully in both Firefox & Internet Explorer. However, in Google Chrome the image ends up overlapping with the Categories / Cart Button. When I run my site in Safari it is not working properly. I checked to see if I removed the code in Safari if it would start working again properly and either way it’s a mess. When I run my site in Safari (with our without the new code) it does not display ANY images. This even includes the preloaded Shoppica images such as the Logo, Search button, Home button, Cart button, pretty much every single image on this website is not loading.

I’ve attached two images, one in which shows my website when it is being run on Google Chrome. You will notice that the Slideshow images overlap the Categories / Cart Button. I also attached an image of what my website looks like when it is being run on Safari. You will notice how ALL of the images do not load onto the website.

I am running the newest versions of all web browser Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari and Google Chrome. I have Open Cart 1.5.1.3

Can you please help me with this?

Best regards
Casey

Hi Casey,

We have modified the code from our previous post. It should work equally now on both Firefox and Chrome.

As for the Safari problem, this is most probably a local issue with your computer (DNS caching, browser settings etc.) You can try to clean your browser cache.

Hi,

I’m trying to achieve the same thing as Casey on my webshop

When I add an image that’s wider than 920px to the intro slider it spills over the right side of the slider. The border on the left side is probably the cause of this.

Screenshot: http://min.us/mbkamBo6vW#1o

I modified the screen.css file like described above, but this didn’t change anything (I’ve tried a hard reset / ctrl + F5).

Can you help me with this?

I’m running the latest versions of Shoppica and OpenCart.
I’ve tested it in Chrome and IE9.

Never mind, seems to have been some kind of cache issue. Works fine now!

Hi,
I used the code above, but it removes the background in all the pages, so I removed the codeline:

background: none !important;

It worked, but the background showed exceeds the image added to the (Theme intro) on Shoppica 2 CP, as follows the image below.

how to solve it.

Thank’s
