Issue when creating sub categories

ThemeBurn SupportForumsOpenCart ThemesKiddos OpenCart ThemeIssue when creating sub categories

This topic has been marked as not resolved.

I create a category and 2nd level category. When I’m trying to create a 3rd level category, I cannot find the 2nd level category as the parents. Please advice.

Thanks

Hi,

Have you enabled any theme cache? It is recommended to disable all theme cache (especially database one), when you are building your category structure.

- Disable all theme cache
- Clear theme cache
- Manually clear the contents of system/storage/cache/

Hope this will help you.

I tried all the 3 sugestions you gave and it didn’t work.
Finally I found what is the problem.
Somehow there is a problem in the auto complete

My category structure is
Children’s Party > Girl > Princess Party!

So when I’m creating Princess Party! Category, if i type children, the auto complete only shows Children’s Party, but not Children’s Party > Girl.

If I type girl, then the auto complete shows Children’s Party > Girl in the list.

But this is not the behavior of other categories I created. So I’m still confused what makes the autocomplete behave this way for this category but behave the other way for the other category.

Hi,

Now we fully understand what is going on and here is the explanation:

The autocomplete matches only the category and not parents, e.g. in Category > Subcategory > Sub subcategory, only the Sub subcategory is searched from the autocomplete.
