This topic has been marked as resolved.

This issue has previously been marked as resolved in another thread, but apparently it is not (again):

A new customer contacted me today claiming that she could not register, because the state/region dropdown menu in the registration form does not let her perform a selection.
I checked this on two different computers and have to acknoledge that she is right. The dropdown menu opens, but it does not display entries (only a grey bow).

Also interesting to note: The problem occurs in Internet Explorer 11, but not in Mozilla Firefox.
I did not check this for other browsers and versions.

I am using OC 1.5.5.1 and Shoppica2.

Any idea how to solve the problem?

Hello Ray,

We will need to take a look at your website, as we could not located this problem when testing locally. Maybe it is something with your configuration.

Hi,

I checked our site again, and the problem disappeared.
I apologize for the confusion!

I have no idea what caused the problem to disappear, but below a list of tasks I did after posting the last comment and that perhaps unknowingly solved the issue:

1) Changing redirects in the htaccess file (redirecting www-URLs to non-www-URLs).
2) Changing the store’s SSL certificate (the old one was for “www.example.com”, the new one is for “example.com” – without “www”).
3) Changing “config.php” and “admin/config.php” with respect to “define(‘HTTP_SERVER’, …” and “define(‘HTTPS_SERVER’, “.
4) Changing “Store URL” and “SSL URL” in System > Settings > General.

Perhaps this might help others experiencing similar issues with their trouble shooting.

Hi,

Generally, the problem with this field is most likely caused by some javascript error. But what is causing the javascript error, we could not tell without having a look at it :)

If it starts to appear again, please update us in this topic with your store details.
