Issues with seo urls

This topic has been marked as not a support question.

I am experiencing mixed results with enabling seo urls.

My biggest problem is with seo urls for the manufacturer pages. When I click on the manufacturer name from the main category drop down menu I am directed to the standard [ugly] url. For example:

index.php?route=product/shoppica&c_path=83&man_id=11

However, when I click on a manufacturers name from the Brands/Manufacturers page I am able to access the pretty url version of the brands url. /OCdirectory/BrandName

If it helps trouble shoot my problem:

1) I have enabled SEO urls in settings
2) I have mod-rewrite installed, renamed .htaccess file
3) I have added the manufacturer name into the manufacturer SEO keyword field
3) Category pretty urls are working fine (ex: domain.com/OCdirectory/CategoryName)
4) Product pretty urls are working fine (ex: domain.com/OCdirectory/CategoryName/ProductName)
5) System/template file URLs such as Account, Brands, Affiliates, Privacy Policy, Contact Us, etc are not working correctly

I am running OC vs 1.5.1 with shoppica 1.0.10

Anyone experience this? I would greatly appreciate any feedback here – thank you.

Hi,

This one is not a bug. The manufacturer link from the top menu is a custom feature added by Shoppica. It shows the products from the selected brand only for the dropdown category. It is different from the default OpenCart manufacturer page, which shows all the products for the selected brand.

Due to OpenCart limitations, there is no simple way to transform these to SEO urls. This issue is on our to do list and we’ll do your best to provide a solution in future releases. For now, there is no quick solution to this.

Best regards,
