Live search

This topic has been marked as resolved.

Hi,
Live search doesn’t return the results that should.
For example, if you type “samsung s6″ it doesn’t show anything, but if you hit enter, it shows products related to “samsung s6″.

Hi Josip,

We cannot confirm this problem locally. We’ve created a product with the same name, but it appears fine. We will need ftp so we can check the issue on your server.

You can use hidepost to share private information with the support staff.

You have an invalid image, which breaks the opencart’s image resizing functionality, thus preventing the live search from working (it cannot get the image). The problematic image is http://www.wiz.hr/image/catalog/smit/160614154521MG3156.JPG

We added temporary ‘error suppression’ on invalid images, so your live search works now, but you better remove or replace this image.

Ok, thank you, this is solved.
There is one more thing about live search; sometimes when I go to my site live search isn’t active. At the same time banners in the Intro area in the Home page doesn’t work as they should (Line 3, Show on hover, text is always displayed, it doesn’t hide when you move the mouse outside the banner).

Thank you,

Best regards,
Josip

Hello Josip,

1) Live search is based on JS and AJAX requests. Server lags or overall website loading performance may influence initialization times.

2) Banner content that is visible only on hover, is always visible for touch devices. Maybe your device has a touchscreen?

1) OK
2) I’m not talking about mobile devices. Somehow not working live search and displaying text of hover content is linked

Hi Josip,

Unfortunately, we cannot confirm this problem neither locally, nor on your website. Furthermore, we can’t think of any connection between search the banner block, since banner hover state is a pure CSS solution. If you can find the exact steps to get this problem, we might be able to solve it.
