I have the same problem. It doesn’t work on chrome on the dev site. But it does work on the mobile version? is it the same on yours?

It’s not working on ipad either. On iPhone it won’t even show up, but I think it may have something to do with me putting the search bar into a separate row in the header.

I also have a feeling this has something to do with jquery incompatibilities, hopefully the dev can sort this out.

Hi,

1) Enabled the Live Search extension and it works fine.

2-5) Are you on a shared hosting? Have you tried to enable all caching that BurnEngine provides? We’ve browsed your website, added some products in the cart but nothing seemed unusually slow.

Thanks for the reply.

I actually disabled the extension last night as we were testing the reason site was slow.

We were able to reproduce the issue by doing the following:

Adding a product with options to cart,

From the cart menu in the header click “view cart”

Every time we add a new product to cart, it takes about 57 seconds to load the “view cart” page.

Some errors we found were that some elements are not being loaded via https:// instead http:// live search being one of them, and also cart/edit

We are using a dedicated machine, so it shouldn’t be the issue as our site was fairly fast prior to the update.

I can definitely re-enable all the caching options via BE.

Please try clicking on “view cart” after adding a new product.

Thanks.

Can you please update me on this issue? Our customers are abandoning their carts because they think the site isn’t working.

Hi,

about the non-working live search. It does not work when the site is opened without www. This is because your configuration includes www.vapeloft.com as domain name. It is recommended to redirect the non-www version to the www one anyway because of the SEO issues.

Your cart summary page loads really slow when a new product is added to the cart. Can you please share ftp data so we can check if this is connected (we don’t believe so) with the our theme ?

Hi, if you take a look at our .htaccess file you should be able to see that the non www. in fact gets redirected to https://www.

I am fairly certain that the issue is caused by BurnEngine, as there were no issues with loading prior to upgrading from Pavillion.

And also customers aren’t able to clear their carts any more.

The fact is – I can open the non-www version without being redirected.

We identified the performance bottleneck. You’re right – It is the ‘also bought products’ block of the theme. We have disabled it for now, until we are able to come up with a fix.

We also identified another live search issue which prevents it from displaying. We are working on a fix now.

We’ll keep you updated.

Ok guys, I was trying to fix this on my own.

I believe this has something to do with htaccess and rewrite rules for http:// to https://www. across the whole site.

Maybe I should revert back to the old .htaccess file and disable the force SSL vqmod extension?

However it is working much better now after the modifications I made. But it seems like sometimes it loads certain pages slow, and others ok. I will leave it as it is for now.

Waiting for your fix :)

Ok, the problems are back.

When adding 100 x Specific Product with option, everything loads slow or freezes.

Try adding 50+ of the same product to the cart a few times. After the first time everything hangs.

Guys, need some help with these performance issues please.

You had a content area for a Product layout, which included the AlsoBoughtProducts block. As mentioned above, it is known to be slow with many products.

We removed it and the performance issues seem to be gone.
