Missing Orders?

Hi,

I’m not sure whether this is something more suitable for opencart forums, sorry if this is the case. Nonetheless, I have noticed discrepancy in the orders coming through the site.

For example, in the back-end the following orders are listed: 38,39,41,44,45,46,47,49,50,51 – it’s almost as if orders have gone missing.

Look forward to your thoughts on this and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Craig!

It seems your problem is related mostly to opencart, not to Shoppica as a theme. You may want to ask in the opencart forums. However, your information is somewhat scanty and confusing. Try to give more detailed description of what’s happening.

You may want to answer the following questions when describing your issue:

How exactly are the orders missing – do they just disappear from the backend randomly?
Do you mean the client has paid through the payment gateway (paypal for example) and the orders stay unconfirmed in the backend ?
Are you able to find any pattern on how to reproduce the issue ?

I’ve looked into this and it’s not actually problem as such. Rather, if someone does not confirm an order in the checkout, an order ID is created and assigned as an “abandoned order”. These are understandably maintained separately to actual orders and can be viewed through applying a filter in the admin (Sales > Order) section.

OpenCart stores the order before you confirm it. This is the logic of most of the e-commerce platforms.

The only thing you could do is try to convert some of the abandoned orders, which is a common practice :)
