New! and Featured Tag Overlay on Product Images?

I see on some stores that new products have a ribbon style overlay in the corner and the featured has a similar tag but saying featured.

Featured is pretty simple for me to do as it’s just applying a class.. I have no idea how to work the new one as it obviously involves a date or last XX amount of submissions to the database.

Any help?

Hi,

The default OpenCart functionality and the Shoppica one do not offer such feature. Maybe, you have seen some third party extension?
