Hej Themeburn-Team,

first off: Thanks for your great work. I’m using shoppica for years already with another shop and am quite satisfied. Now I decided to build a new shop based on Pavilion. However after upgrading both OC and Pavilion I have some trouble that I can’t fix.

1. my site doesn’t show the content anymore and lots of pages have errors (e.g. https://www.city-gardener.com/faq). Could you please look into this? I wanted to go live in 1 week and everything was fine already before updating :/ I really just updated because I need SSL.

2. some of my settings and content are gone. E.g. my custom menu is gone and everything I did on the homepage. If you tell which database tables are used by Pavilion and you didn’t changed their structure I might just replace them with my backup?

Anyway, here are logins to my ftp and admin:

I’d really appreciate your help!

Thanks & best,
Torge

Edit: It seems as if resaving things in Pavilion (e.g. theme colors) solves some errors. However, it leads to further loss of configuration. All my custom colors are gone now as well as my fonts…
Again: If nothing changed in the db structure please tell which tables I need to roll back so this could be solved!

Hi,

we will check this. Do you have any backup, as advised in upgrade docs before doing the upgrade ?

Hej ThemeBurn Support,

yes, I have several backups of both the DB (SQL) and FTP files. Please let me know if you need any of them or need me to restore.

Thanks & best,
Torge

We identified the issue. During the OpenCart upgrade, the database was changed so that it reverted some settings made during Pavilion installation. We suppose you made new OpenCart installation and just imported the old data there, as a regular OpenCart update shouldn’t do this.

This corrupted the Pavilion main settings (colors, fonts, store settings) and we are unable to restored them (half of the data has been erased).

In order to fix it, you have to execute the following query (through phpmyadmin or whatever it’s used in your control panel to access the database):

ALTER TABLE `oc_setting` CHANGE `value` `value` LONGTEXT CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_general_ci NOT NULL

We don’t have access to a database management tools on your server, so we can’t do it for you. You should re-save the admin panel thereafter. This will make Pavilion working properly, but won’t restore your previous settings.

We hope you made a DB backup (sql), as suggested, or just keep the old data export, if you want to get back the previous settings.

ThemeBurn team

You could upload your database sql backup to your FTP and give us access to phpmyadmin, so we could try to sort out the thing for you.

You could log into mySQL at:

Credentials are in the config.php.
I uploaded a backup to the server root (zipped file)

Would be awesome if you could make this work!!
Still, just for future problems: Did any definitions in the DB change from OC 2.0.0.0 to 2.0.1.1 and or Pavilio 1.1.3 to 1.2.2 ? If so I should actually throw all my old DB backups away…

Thanks & best,
Torge

Hej TB support,

do you already know when you’ll be able to look into this? I’d love to continue working on the shop over the weekend and I guess I’d have to roll back to the old version in case this couldn’t be solved :(

Thanks & best,
Torge

Hi,

we managed to import your old settings. The error notices you see on the frontpage are not connected with Pavilion – you will see them even if you enable the default theme. They are OpenCart 2 issues, caused by slideshow, featured and carousel modules. You could either uninstall them or search the opencart forums for fixes.

Could you share with us what steps did you take to upgrade OpenCart ?

Hej ThemeBurn Team,

thanks for getting back to me. I did exactly the steps that are explained in the OC upgrade howto (I would have loved to only replace updated files, however, I couldn’t find a files changelog from OC so I had to overwrite all files). I even deactivated Pavilion before updating OC as stated in your howto doc.

With the 3 modules deactivated the shop doesn’t throw errors anymore. Thanks!

However, the settings are still gone (fonts, colours, content, …). Could you please tell me if DB structure changed from OC 2.0.0.0 to 2.0.1.1 and/or Pavilion 1.1.3 to 1.2.2? Also which tables in the DB would I have to overwrite to get the Pavilion settings back? Would be good to know so that in the future I could fix things myself.

Also the basket is not working. This should be working even if the Pavilion settings are missing, right?

Just so that you know you my shop looked before the update: dev.city-gardener.com (and yes, in the future I plan to mess up the dev and keep the shop nice ;)

Thanks & best,
Torge

Hi again,

we restored your primary version to look like the dev.

The problem was with DB structure change between OC 2.0.0.0 and 2.0.1.1. Some database fields were renamed and others were dropped. We don’t have the exact diff right now, but it’s easy to create one if you have the proper tools.
