I would like to remove add to cart for products which require an individual to select “available option” i.e. size color etc. Presently when you click add to cart for a product that has an available option, it simply jumps to product description page. This may prove to be a bit confusing to the buyer.
Or is there a way to display a message, you must choose xyz in order to add it to your cart, then have it jump to the product description page.
Lastly, is there a way to change the title “available options” to something different, i.e. Please select option.
THANKS!

Hi,
Removing (or replacing) the add to cart button, when product has additional options to choose, will be a little bit tricky. We don’t think this could be achieved in several steps guide.
About the “Available options” title, this could be easy changed from the language file:
catalog/language/english/product/product.php -> line 14

That’s understandable. Do you think there would be a means to display message, something like in order to place item in cart you need to select option xyz? I’m just trying to think from as a person who never or hardly orders, so with as much hand holding as possible. If too involved, just say, see if I can get help in opencart forum.
Thanks for the other answer.

Placing a message on the category/brand/search/latest/bestseller/special/featured product list will cost the same modification as removing the add to cart button.
You will need to check somehow, if a product has options, so you could show or hide the cart button. You will have to make quite a bit modification in order achieve what you want.
We found a topic that could be useful:

You could try to adapt the modification posted there.
