Remove product description from category view

Hello,

How can I remove the description (the three points) which is shown under the product title in category view? On your demo page it doesn’t appear and the options I checked seemed to be the same with mine.

Also, I still didn’t managed to fix the error with the admin access when I try to click on subcategories. It works when I go from drop down menu directly, but it asks for admin access when I click first the main category and then the subcategory.

Thanks.

Hi,

1) We were not able to fully understand your “remove the description” request. Can you provide some screenshot?

2) Wrong links from subcategories to admin are somehow caused by theme cache, but nobody has been able to provide a full set of steps to provoke it, so we are still investigating. You can fix this by clearing theme cache.

Hi,

1) see the pictures attached. I tried to edit description from Product listing global settings, but I can’t uncheck description and if I set the value to 0 it appears the code on the page, like in the photo attached.
After I wrote you the 3 points disappeared, I thought you did something, but now they appeared again so I want to know how to get rid of them.

2) I observed, but I need to delete the files from system/storage/cache too and it works for some time.

3) It is possible to apply special price to all products, something like -15% to all products from a category? I have to edit some file or I have to buy some extension? Can you recommend me something?

Thanks.

Hi,

I have some more questions.

4) Why sometimes it shows 4 products per line in category view and sometimes 5 products? It’s the same monitor with same resolution… I cleaned the cache and it came back to 4…

5) There is some compression on the photos? As I sell crystal glass panel products I would like to show all the images at their best quality. It is possible? Where can I change that?

I will finish my shop this week and I will stop with the questions. :)

Thanks.

Hi,

1&2) In the same “Product Listing” panel, you need to change the “Layout” option to “Default”.

This will change the predefined product listing to fully customizable.

3) Adding a discount (special price) to a whole category is not possible in OpenCart. You will need a third party extension. Unfortunately we cannot recommend you any, since we have an almost zero experience.

4) We have checked a category in your website and we’ve never get 5 products per row. Tested with all major browsers.

5) Image compression cannot be changed. Maybe there is some third party extension that can change this.

Hello,

thanks for the answers.

1. I tried with default layout, but it moves the prices above the “add to cart” button and it takes out the separator line too. I want it to look exactly like the Technopolis full info, but without description… like on your demo page. It would be much easier if the Technopolis full info layout would be editable.

Thanks.

Hi,

The idea with these custom layouts was to have a predefined set of options, but maybe the idea was not that good :)

You can make the description option active, by editing the theme config file:

1) Open system/vendor/BurnEngine/themes/technopolis/config.php

2) Find this code line:

'description_default' => '1',

and delete it.

3) Refresh your product listing settings and uncheck the description from the table.
