This topic has been marked as resolved.

Hello,

I´m happy for the Pavilion Theme I just updated my web shop with, and almost everything is working correctly. But I have some problems with the SEO URL´s. My setup is following:

Opencart 1.5.6.4 / Pavilion Theme 2.0.2 / BurnEngine 1.0.7

I running my web shop with Swedish language like standard and want to add several languages as well. I have activated the “SEO Pack” extension and now I trying to configure English language. When I just using the SEO keywords for the Swedish language everything is working correctly, but if I fill in SEO keywords for English language I receive 404 errors when I navigate around in the shop.

I have tried to clear the cache and I´m not using another SEO extension either. I also add the additional patch for the problem with the menus and now the menus is visible all the time and working correctly.

Do you have any ideas for this problem?

Best regards
Thomas

Hi Thomas,

We will need the website url, admin and ftp access, so we can check.

You can use hidepost to share private information with the support staff.

Hi Thomas,

We’ve navigated through your website, opening several products, categories and information pages on both English and Swedish, but we faced not problems at all. Is this problem still valid?

Maybe there is(are) some specific page(s) that is problematic?

Hello,

Thanks for your reply and the time you guys put on this. The problem is still there, I´m trying to explain the problem in detail as follow:

My webshop have Swedish language as default. It´s when I´m trying to configure the English (optional language choice) I get some problems with the SEO URL´s and the selected keywords.
When I´m changing from Swedish language to English language in the webshop, everything seems to work good IF I NOT fill in the keywords for every page in English.

For example:
In Swedish: http://www.mydomain.se/om-oss (about us) is working good, both in with Swedish and English language. But if I add English SEO keyword in SEO pack extension for the “About us” page, I receive “The page you requested cannot be found!” when I trying to navigate to the special page when English language is selected. The same problem is it for every page, category or product there I add English keywords for the permalinks.

If you log in to admin and checking the SEO pack, you can see my filled in SEO keywords for the Swedish language, and also in English for only the “About us” page, and right now it´s only the “About us” that gives me this 404 error “The page you requested cannot be found!”.

Thanks for your support! Super great theme with tons of opportunities and adjustments options, but I would very much like to use the SEO keywords for different languages.

I have no clue what´s wrong. Some missing details in the HTACCESS file? Some other settings that I have missed?

Best regards
Thomas

Hi Thomas,

The problem is confirmed and resolved. We’ve attached a patch that will fix your problem. You just need to extract it to your store root folder and clear vqmod cache.

Hello,

Super good! I have tried the patch and now everything seems to work correctly.

1. Is it OK to turn on Cache now? By the way, do you recommend some specific settings for the cache functions?

2. I see that the extension “OpenCart Performance+” is deactivated. Should it still be uninstalled or should I install the extension again? What exactly does the extension “OpenCart Performance+”?

3. Does the “SEO pack” extension generates canonical meta for Home, Categories, All products etc? And take care of canonical URL´s?

Thanks for the good support!

Best regards
Thomas

Hi,

1) You can turn on cache now. The default settings should be ok

2) The OpenCart Performance+ extension provides additional cache layer – database cache. We released it as extension so it can be easily deactivated. It is mainly for cheap hosting when there are limited resources and the database queries are slow .You can try it.

3) OpenCart generates canonical urls for all products without installing any extension.

Hello,

Thanks for the answer! I will go for the standard setting for the cache options.

I see that you have added a new patch with the name “seo2.zip”. What is this?

It is the whole seo extension with the patch included. It was attached accidentally.
