Shoppica 2 Not Working on iPhone

This topic has been marked as resolved.

Hi, I just installed Shoppica 2 on my web store and for some reason the website does not load whatsoever on the iPhone (iPhone 4, iOS5.1, Safari). However, it works perfectly fine with the iPad. I tried doing some trouble shooting and the best I found was that some sort of host file was missing. Not sure what that means exactly, but if anyone could help out that would be great!

Webstore info:

http://www.GunSafari.com , OpenCart 1.5.2.1 , Shoppica 2.0 installed with no core files changed (vqmod files are installed though)

Hi,

There is a strange loop indeed.

Can you share your website details (admin and ftp), so we can check.

Hi!

It seems a page caching extension is causing your issues. You need to disable this extension if you want to use Shoppica. Actually, I wouldn’t recommend this extension at all – it’s only partial and half-working solution for opencart speed issues. It would surely cause problems with the default opencart installation, not only with Shoppica.

The good news is that we have prepared a Shoppica 2 caching extension which will solve most of the opencart performance issues. It would be released very soon.

P.S: sorry for the late response, but we have been extremely busy last week.

Of course, I completely understand! I will go ahead and disable that now. Thanks!
Also, there seems to be an Internet Explorer problem as well — not sure if that’s cache related or not.

If you observe IE problems after removing the caching extension, please post your issues here (be sure to mention IE version and provide a screenshot if possible).

Hi TB,
I also have a similar problem. It seems there is a weird re-direct loop when using mobile devices. The homepage loads fine, but then any page clicked on re-directs continually to and from the homepage and the page you are trying to visit.

OpenCart Version: 1.5.5.1
Theme version 2.2.3

Help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Hi TB,
When the Smart Cache plugin is disabled, the re-direct loop on mobiles doesn’t occur. The downside however is the site is incredible slow due to the number of categories. Is there a fix for this? Thank you in advance.

@kwaek

Open catalog/view/theme/shoppica2/template/tb/header.tpl and comment or remove this line:

window.location.reload();

This will remove the constant redirection.
