Stories SEO URLs not working for me

ThemeBurn SupportForumsOpenCart ThemesPavilion OpenCart ThemeStories SEO URLs not working for me

This topic has been marked as resolved.

Hi there,

I am using Pavilion 1.2.5 and OC 2.0.1.1 and I have some trouble with the Stories SEO URLs. My blog URL is https://www.diestadtgaertner.de/blog and that’s working just fine. However, for the single stories / articles the URL should be e.g. https://www.diestadtgaertner.de/blog/chili-fireflame-rot-vectura-orange-und-vectura-yellow which is not working. Only if I delete the /blog/-folder out of this URL the link works. Any idea why this is?

I am also using the Complete SEO extension which might cause problems but shouldn’t?!

It would be really great if you could help me get this to work.
Please let me know if you need any logins.

Thanks & best,
Torge

Hi,

We will need the website url, admin and ftp access, so we can check.

You can use hidepost to share private information with the support staff.

We will need the “Complete SEO” extension, so we can test locally for compatibility issues. Can you please, send the zip package to info@themeburn.com.

Hi ThemeBurn team,

there you go:

I just sent the “Complete SEO”. However, please note that the guy changed things a little in order to make it compatible with Pavilion. I sent it along in the email.

Thanks & best,
Torge

Hi ThemeBurn team,

do you already have an idea about where the problem might lie? I’d be happy to help inquire if you could provide a lead.

The problem is that the posts are live and I don’t want google to index the wrong URLs.

Cheers,
Torge

Hi,

sorry for the delayed answer.

We looked into your issue and it seems that is connected with the Complete SEO package you have installed. In order to test some things, we need write permissions for /system/modification folder. Can you please change all of the files/folders there to 777 or give us account with proper permissions ?

ThemeBurn team

Hi ThemeBurn team,

I just changed the attributes for all files and (sub)folders.
Please let me know if you need anything else.

Hi again,

we managed to fix your issue. It required a little change in our code. We preferred this approach instead of modifying “Complete SEO package” code. We will incorporate this fix in our future updates so you don’t have to worry when updating.

Thank you for your patience!

Hi ThemeBurn team,

thank you so very much for solving this problem (yet again). I used Shoppica for my first shop then Shoppica2 and now Pavilion and I have to say the themes are always great (best I’ve tested and seen) and the support is amazing.

Please keep up the great work!

Thanks & best,
Torge

Thanks for the good words Torge :)

If you are happy with Pavilion, we will be grateful, if you rate our theme in ThemeForest.

Hello ThemeBurn-Team,

I switched to BurnEngine (I bought both Shoppica and Kiddos) and the newest OC version now and after testing your integrated SEO solution I had to decide to stick with complete SEO again as there are some features that are still missing with your solution.

However, I am facing the same issue no again than I did in the past. Stories URLs are not working. When I add a keyword to a post an entry appears in the complete SEO extension DB (see attachment). However it keeps redirecting me to the stories_id=XX URL which displays the homepage.

Do you have any idea on what the problem might be? I’d be really grateful if you might look into this. Credentials are:

Just wanted to update you that this problem is not ignored, but it has turned to be more time consuming to resolve than we’ve thought. We are sorry for the troubles and will provide more information as soon as we are ready.

Hi,

we tried to refresh the opencart cache (a routine task), but there was a problem with a file, modified manually bu you – /system/library/language.php. We replaced it with the original opencart file in order to get your site working. Your modified file was renamed to language.php.bak, so you can inspect the errors.

The Stories extension has been modified in order to be compatible with Complete Seo package. These modifications will be included in the next theme update too. Now when you are on http://dev.diestadtgaertner.de/blog/ the first blog article opens because it has the respective entry in the complete seo package -> special page. The second article has no entry and does not open.

Btw which SEO features do you miss in the integrated package ?

Hi ThemeBurn team,

thank you very much for fixing this an incorporating this fix in your core for the future.
I was mostly missing the feature to set a fixed path for products so that each product is ONLY reachable via for example domain.com/category/subcategory/product.

Thanks & best,
Torge
