Sub category with "/" in title takes user to the admin login

ThemeBurn SupportForumsOpenCart ThemesPavilion OpenCart ThemeSub category with "/" in title takes user to the admin login

This topic has been marked as not resolved.

This is an odd one that I have worked around.

I have a category “Rubber Stamps > Christmas > To/From Christmas Tags.
When I hovered over “Rubber Stamps” and navigated the pull down list to “To/From….” the proper product list displayed.

When I clicked on “Rubber Stamps” and was presented with a screen showing the same list and selected “Christmas” or “To/From Christmas Tags” I was taken to the OC2.2 administrator login screen.

On a wild guess, I removed the “/” from the title and the Meta Tag Title and the problem went away.
I have a “vanilla” OC2.2 installation (bare bones with default theme) with the same categories and tested it out with “/” in the title and it behaves normally.

More of an FYI as I can certainly live with the title “To From Christmas Tags…”

If you want to test it out I can revert my dev system back.

Cheers
Brad

Hi Brad,

We will need the dev website url, admin and ftp access, so we can check.

You can use hidepost to share private information with the support staff.

Over the weekend I looked at the problem and found that it was a coincidence that this was happening when I had admin>Themeburn>System>Cache (ON). Once I turned the cache to off I was longer was taken to the admin page. However I did receive “Page Not Found”. This is with SEO URLs turned on. I have reconfigured the following; Rubber Stamps > Christmas Rubber Stamps > To/From Christmas Tags. With SEO turned on; selecting this category gives you “Page Not Found”. I believe this has to do with the SEO URL being coded as “To?From-Christmas-Tags”. I believe the reason this is not happening with our Wholesale site is that it does not have SEO URLs turned on.

Let me know if there is anything wrong, but I feel this is a limitation of OpenCart SEO URLs and not a problem with Pavilion.
Thanks
Brad

Hi Brad,

Today, we provided a new bugfix release. There are lots of things that are taken care of, including a similar “category links redirect to admin” one. Can you please try to update and then update us?

Applied the fix and although I do not get the admin panel I do get page not found. But I think this is simply that I can not use a “/” in SEO keyword variable.

So I am good with this and the ticket can be closed.

However I am still getting lots of errors in my error.log. Please see #56307.

Yes, you can’t use ‘/’ in seo keywords, and this is true for the default opencart installation too. It is not connected to our theme.
