Hi! I’m trying to build a menu using the menu composer, and what I really want to accomplish is to build a categories menu with submenu.
I tried it both ways: both by using the category dropdown automatic button (which creates indeed a categories menu button, but, as I hover, it shows up a dropdown with no items) and I also tried to do it manually (by creating a single menu item and dragging the categories a little bit to the right so it would indent and then become a submenu).
I have no success in both ways, and the last one, while I drag the submenu, it seems to “snap” the yellow shadow that is showing where the menu will be located, but when I release the mouse button, it simply snap back to its original location, and saving it does no good.
Is there any other way to accomplish this?
Thanks in advance,
Bruno.

Hello Bruno,
BurnEngine does not allow a category to have any submenus. If you insert a category submenu is automatically created from category subcategories.
Is this your case, or we are missing something? A screenshot will help us to easier identify your problem.

I managed to resolve my problem by creating a menu with no link at it (href=”#”) and put the categories that I wanted to appear in there.
But for bug support, here’s my screenshot when I simply use the categories dropdown.
Thank you again.

Hi,
Have you:
1) Checked the categories as “Top”?

2) Cleared theme cache after creating the menu set?

For performance purposes we always cache the category db queries if theme cache is on.

Yeah, I have checked both, and it didn’t work.
But as I said, I managed to work it otherway.
thank you.
