Have you checked BurnEngine (Kiddos) documentation? Anyway, will try to make a quick explanation here as well.

BurnEngine divides the website in several editable areas. You can modify each area content either globally or for a specific page. This is what the scopes stand for.

E.g. for your INTRO section, you have saved settings for the GLOBAL scope – breadcrumbs and page title blocks. This means that all pages (this is what GLOBAL stands for) in your website will show the two saved blocks (breadcrumbs and page title) for this area. You want however, to insert more information for the INTRO area for products categories only (a static text e.g.). In this case you should open the scopes dropdown and select the “All categories” scope, add the new block and save. You will then have breadcrumbs and page title show for all store pages, but for all categories you will have breadcrumbs, page title and the static text.
