Translation problem with UTF-8 polish diacritical language signs

Hi,
I must say your theme is simply great and I (and of course my client) am almost happy with it.

First little question. Is there any chance to add some spaces, tabs and maybe new line in “About Company” (“O firmie” in my case) section in footer?

I develop a shop for my client: http://max-dywanik.nazwa.pl/opencart/
and so far the biggest problem I have it is polish translation. This language needs just a few diacritical signs – here you can see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish_code_pages .

As a pole I can easily understand what a word without those signs mean but it’s not a solution for the long run. Clients could be unsatisfied with this half-language on site ;)

Furthermore some ‘silent problems’ appear to the shop if diacritical signs are running, for example:
Ajax seems to fail – you cannot see if the item jumped into cart until you’ve refreshed the site.

Here you can see “Zjcia (3)” which means ‘Photos’:
http://max-dywanik.nazwa.pl/opencart/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=3506

And at the bottom of manufacturer list “Łada”:
http://max-dywanik.nazwa.pl/opencart/index.php?route=product/manufacturer

Strange thing is on the sitemap subpage. There are some css-blocks-of-font-colour. Do you know what it means? http://max-dywanik.nazwa.pl/opencart/index.php?route=information/sitemap

P.S. I probably will be making “live search” mod into your theme based on free extension from OpenCart site: Very simple AJAX live search. You guys can thinking about it.

Greetings

Pawel

Hi,

It seems that your utf-8 problems are related to opencart, not to Shoppica. I’ve checked this Łada and found a solution, which needs modifying the opencart core. However, this bug is fixed in the latest opencart version, so you’ll get the fix when you update to the latest opencart version 1.5.1.3 and latest Shoppica version 1.10 (due to be released within this week).

About the sitemap problem; we are using an image as a mask and it seems that the mask height is not enough for your high lists. The thing you could do here is to open the http://max-dywanik.nazwa.pl/opencart/catalog/view/theme/shoppica/images/bullet_1.png image in an image editing program and add more white space at the bottom of the picture. In Photoshop this is made with Image -> Canvas Size. Try with 2000px height.

Hope this will help.

Best,

My earlier answer gone somewhere and I don’t know why…

1. “Łada” problem still exists :(
2. Thanks for canvas solution.

Sorry, something has messed up with the forum posts. Here’s the solution to the utf8 problem.

You will need to register in order to post topics and read replies in the ThemeBurn.com support forums!

I have submitted this bug to opencart developers. It should be really fixed in the next version.
