Urgent: Upgraded to Pavilion V2 and things broken

ThemeBurn SupportForumsOpenCart ThemesPavilion OpenCart ThemeUrgent: Upgraded to Pavilion V2 and things broken

This topic has been marked as resolved.

I have just upgraded to V2 of Pavilion.

And store front is broken. It just shows upgrade page instead of original storefront.

Also, Theme Control Panel is not loading in admin login.

Please take a look urgently.

Hi Ash,

Have you run the upgrade process successfully? In all cases, you will have to restore a database backup, if you want your old data back.

When upgrading, after the step ” enter the admin panel and install the BurnEngine module”, I got page with only Loading message in browser and it stays there even after 30 minutes of wait. So I don’t know if it completed successfully.

Also, i was under the impression that a theme upgrade doesn’t overwrite database, as I have been told. So I didn’t take backup of the database, only the Opencart installation area.

Now what do I do?

Hi,

1) Since you haven’t reach the upgrade step, most likely there is some problem that we need to check.

2) Have you uninstalled “Pavilion CP” module? Once you uninstall the module, you loose any previously saved data.

Everywhere in admin and in theme documentation there are warnings to always make a backup in case something goes wrong. What you can do is to contact your hosting provider to see if there is some automated database backup you can use.

I have a database backup I can use. What do you suggest now?
Restore the opencart directory before migration and restore database and then contact support for performing upgrade?

Hi,

The best thing you can do is:

1) Restore your website before the upgrade.

2) Duplicate your website (copy installation with a duplicated database)

3) Upload BurnEngine

4) Let us take a look what is the exact problem (will need admin and ftp for the new installation).

Hi,

We’ve uploaded latest Pavilion (BurnEngine) and it installed and upgraded without any errors. The problem is that there are some server permissions that prevent the control panel from loading (any external file urls return 403 – Forbidden error).

We’ve then tried to restore the old database, but some problems arose when using the OC data import tool.

What, you can do from this point:

1) Restore a working database

2) Identify the server rules that prevent theme control panel external files from loading

3) Install the BurnEngine module again and upgrade

Please explain why installing a new theme version overwrites the OC database? I can restore but I need to understand what is going wrong with database in this process of installing theme.

And I need to see the error you are mentioning when opening control panel.

Hi,

Before we install and upgrade to the latest Pavilion, we’ve used the OC tool to create a database backup. Then after making sure everything setup correctly, we’ve tried to bring the old database back, so you can run through the upgrade process by yourself (to make sure everything is OK). Unfortunately, something went wrong and that is why you need to use a server tool to restore your backup.

BurnEngine (and some integrated modules) do not modify existing database tables, but only creates new ones.

Before you bring the old database back, you can try to open the BurnEngine control panel and use the browser dev tool to see the errors.

Hello,

Thanks for the clue. We have fixed the access now and are able to upgrade the theme.
Now, besides the font, color, background etc. that I can fix, I am seeing that Information content is not showing up.

For example, http://yantrr.co/yantrrSTRup/support, etc.

These pages have content in Opencart DB.

Hi Ash,

There is some problem that we are still trying to identify. It is fixed by clearing theme cache. We’ve done this for you and now everything should be OK.
