Hello there,

I would like to ask;

Is is possible to somehow add/edit layouts for individual manufacturers?

  • I see that currently we can edit for manufacturers, and manufacturer info -
However, we have a different description, and image for each manufacturer in our store, and we would like to be able to display them above our ‘page content’ as it is with the category layouts.
I have attempted to add a layout via Dashboard>Design>Layouts, and created a layout with the route ‘product/manufacturer/info?manufacturer_id=13′ which works to the point where I can now locate the layout through BurnEngine (I really really love BurnEngine!!!). Unfortunately, this is where I run into trouble, as the layout does not seem to have any effect on the manufacturer page (manufacturer_id=13).
I’m I perhaps making a rookie move here by getting the ‘route’ wrong, or is there a more complex solution to this situation?
Looking forward to your reply, or if anybody in the community has managed to get around a similar situation, I would highly appreciate any advice!

Hi,

Unfortunately OpenCart does not allow to have personalized manufacturer pages, there is no such an option.

What you have tried to do won’t work. Route field takes only the route variable and not the manufacturer id:

product/manufacturer/info

Thanks very much for your feedback – Crazy to think that opencart is limited in this way with no work-around.. but I guess it is what it is.. We will look toward creating a custom solution for this.. Thanks again.

Hi,

We’ve checked and there are extensions that will extend the Manufacturer information by adding the missing fields, but unfortunately they will not work with Page Builder. We will see if we could add this as an built-in extension.

In fact the only extension that we’ve found and add the option to select Layout override for manufacturers is this one:
