Hello,
I am having the same trouble.
I have uploaded the files (step 1). I have chosen the template in the dropdown (step 2).
Installing the Pavilion CP module causes:

Hi!

We have recently released Pavilion 1.2.2. Can you please upgrade Pavilion, then uninstall it from Admin Panel -> Extension Modules and install it again ?

I was already running 1.2.2, but I uninstalled it (which produced an error about missing tables that I suspect weren’t created during the last install).
I then zipped the local folder of files and ftp’d them to the server and logged-in via ssh and unzipped them (last time, I used ftp to transfer everything uncompressed).
I refreshed my browser and then chose install again and this time it worked.

so everything is working now.
