Hello,
as the newest pavilion v1.2.0 supports only OC 2.0.1.*, i have reinstalled the whole combo from scratch.
Default OC theme is working without any problems, however Pavilion gives me this error and nothing else is displayed on the shop front end:

Well, i did one more reinstall and it all works now.

As answered here, one of the causes for such error is the insufficient rights of the system/modification folder. We already filed an issue in the opencart bug tracker.
