How does one add product codes to products?

A product code is a unique product number for each product. I’ve actually never used a shopping cart which doesn’t allow you to use product codes for your products, but I can’t find anywhere that allows this to be done with this theme. I could well be missing something really obvious, and I haven’t had the time to get into it up to my elbows yet, but I would have thought that a product code would be, next to the product name, one of the first things you would add to the product!
Does anyone else use product codes with this theme? If so a quick heads-up would be really appreciated.

Hi,
OpenCart has a Model and SKU fields by default. Is this what you are looking for?
