@mudpie4me, @borsik, @Vladimirek – we have email the extension to you.

@borsik – Which version of Shoppica are you having speed issues with ? Shoppica 1 had known problems with the performance, but Shoppica 2 matches the default opencart theme performance.

I have problem with Shoppica2. When I simply switch to default theme performance problems are gone. There is something what causes that Shoppica2 has poor performance. Maybe it’s because Shoppica2 has support of multiple sub-categories. I have standard 4-levels deep structure but sometimes there is also 5th sub-category level. This is not supported in default theme.

@borsik – we will make some test with the database you have attached. Which is the opencart version you have made database export from ?

As I mentioned in my first post to this thread it’s OpenCart 1.5.4

@borsik sorry, we have missed this somehow. Anyway, we will test against your database in order to improve Shoppica performance more. Also please, share with us your experience with the extension we have sent.

First of all: thank you for the optimalization extension. I installed it without problems. Unfortunately, there is no significant/visible change in performance – first byte is sent in average after 3 seconds.

EDIT: after my yesterday optimalizations it’s now about 2.4s to the first byte.

@borsik, we’re going to test against your database when time permits (most likely within this month). We will update you if we find any further optimizations.

After installing the experimental cache extension, it is perfectly normal that your first request to a given page is slow. It is used to build the cache. Are the subsequent requests to the same page also slow ?

Of course I’ve installed cache extension and it is in use from that time. There is still around 2.3s to first byte. Web site is in production so please if you find out any solution to speed up please notify me.

Thanks

Alexander
