Hi TB, I’ve recently being looking at my site speed which I hadn’t previously analysed in any great detail. Hope you can help. My live site: http://www.vintageheirloom.com is currently running quite slow when analysing with Pingdom tools. I think it’s because of the number of requests, around 65 was more but I removed some images with javascript calls (Trustwave logo, Google translator etc). Occasionally speed is ok, 2 -3.5 seconds I’d be happy with this. But on retesting I think evening time in the UK I get an average around 5 – 8 seconds, sometimes a lot more as it hangs on certain objects, looks like Twitter and FB widgets in the footer from the Pingdom flow diagram. This could be my host, Hostgator I’m contacting them because the varying speed morning / evening smells like server issue but I thought I’d test further: On my test server I clean installed Opencart. Out of the box the speed was consistently around 1.5 – 2.5 seconds, with 12 server requests. After I installed a highly recommended server side cache extension (link below) speed was faster still consistently around < 1 sec – 1.5 seconds. Further at this point I got a Y-slow got a grade A 99/100 After installing Shoppica things slowed down especially after putting in the Twitter / FB widgets, 2 – 4 seconds. Obviously I'm concerned about my live site, 85 requests and my site is much slower than my competition. I'd really appreciate some insight on how I can improve load time.

Hi, Have you applied for our experimental cache plugin here -> http://support.themeburn.com/topic/site-very-slow ? Generally it is designed to reduce server queries. Best, |

Hi TB, I’ve uninstalled my previous speed cache plugin & installed yours. The good news is that page load time has improved across the site! I give your plugin a big thumbs up. I think you’re theme could do even better by advertising this plugin as a nice feature. Best theme, best speed! As always, many thanks |

Thanks for the suggestion, Kevin We’ve had this idea for quite a while. Unfortunately, we lack time for anything else (we are a small team for the moment) than the support forums and a brand new thingy that is being developed Best, |
