Hi,

i have all kind of changes made in shoppica 1 in style and lay-out. Can you please tell me what the best way is to update to shoppica 2?

And is it possible toinstall Shoppica 2 next to the existing shoppica without any problems?

My shop is already live and i cant afford to be offline.

thanks for the support!

My site is NOPdesign.nl

Hi,

Unfortunately, you cannot upgrade from Shoppica 1 to Shoppica 2. Although the markup is not too much different, there are some changes that prevents the direct upgrade.

You can however, install Shoppica 2 along with Shoppica 1, without having to remove the first version.

What we could suggest is to:

1) Download your webstore and run it locally.

2) Then install Shoppica 2 and put your custom changes (we haven’t seen to much modification on your website).

3) Once you are ready with all theme changes, install Shoppica 2 on your live store and copy only changed files.

Or you can make all the changes with vQmod. You will avoid to touch all theme files every time you update Shoppica.

Hope we have helped.

Thanks for your detailed explanation. I will go deeper into the local install and if I can make it in vqmod.

Can you tell me whether it is possible that you perform the upgrade to shoppica2? Because I’m afraid I’m going to do what is wrong so my site offline. So I hope you can help me, and what would be the cost?

Thank you very much!
