Google Analytics

This topic has been marked as resolved.

Hello,

So I created a Google Analytics account and copy/pasted the provided code into the Google Analytics box at the bottom of System/Settings/Server. When I am logged into my Google Analytics account it is telling me that the “Tracking Not Installed. The Google Analytics tracking code has not been detected on your website’s home page. For Analytics to function, you or your web administrator must add the code to each page of your website.”

What am I doing wrong? Do I have to copy the provided code from Google Analytics anywhere besides the Google Analytics box in System/Settings/Server?

Thanks in advance

Casey

Hello,

This issue is resolved. I believe it was an issue with Google verifying the code because today it is working fine. If anyone else has the same problem I would suggest waiting a good 6+ hours after adding the Analytics code to verify that it works. I think it just needed some time.

Best regards
Casey

Hi Casey,

Generally, Google Analytics needs some time for initialization. This is the same with the visitors data. It is never real time.

Actually the theme pastes the Analytics code to the footer. It should have been pasted just before the closing tag. I tried to register my site to Google Webmaster Tools and integrate it with Analytics, I used the Theme’s options panel and pasted the Analytics code there. After a day, I noticed that Google Analytics says my code is still not installed on the page. Then I checked up the code and the code was installed to the footer. It also tooltips you about the location in the panel.

So I edited the header.php and inserted the Analytics Tracking Code manually and it worked like a charm.

Maybe you should consider changing the location of analytics data in the Theme Options panel.
