Homepage Category Menu Drop Down Tree Limit to 2 Deep Maximum?

I have a categories that tend to go down several trees deep but I would like the categories at the top to only go down 2 levels max instead of 3 or more. It starts to look really bad when you have multiple subcategories and as you hover over them they expand and it just looks too clustered. Is there a way to limit the depth of the tree to 2 deep maximum on the main top category menu bar?

Any response from support?

My category system is like this Light Bulbs > Halogen > then more categories to break it down future but I want to top category bar to stop at the Halogen level if possible.

Can someone provide me the code to change it to only go 2 levels deep and where I need to modify the code?
