How to show categories on the Home page

Hi,
I’m kind a new for Opencart in general as well as Shoppica2 theme. I have few questions in regards to categories.

1)In my categories I have one parent category that has children categories . I’m trying to show them in the left section on the HOME page but it only shows their parent instead of children. However when I click on the parent it automatically goes for this parent category showing all of it’s children items. What is the best way to make this idea work?

2) Another question: is there a way to make these category items show right in the left from slider (intro module) not underneath the intro slider?

Hi,

1) Here is a topic, where we explain, how to open all categories and not only the current one:

2) Generally, the intro section is designed to be always full width, so there is no way to split the page from after the main menu. However, you can use the default OpenCart Slideshow module, which can go into the main column or in the sidebar.
