Hi there,

I run Shoppica2 v2.2.0. Since installing it I’ve made changes to it’s files to the css and template files etc. I’m realizing now that upgrading to the latest version could remove a lot of what I changed. I would need to spend a lot of time merging my changes with the new ones.

1. What is the best way for me to go about upgrading in my current state?

2. How would you suggest me to make changes to the theme in the future? Should I have been using vQmod this entire time?

Thanks for your time

Hi,

1) The best way in your case is to use some comparison software (like WinMerge) for easier transfer of all your changes. You can also take a look at the files changelog.

2) Generally, the best way to do customizations and keep the theme easy for update is to put all css changes at the end of the theme stylesheet, or use the Custom stylesheet panel from the theme options and to use vQmod for all markup/code changes.

Hope we’ve helped you.

Best,
ThemeBurn team
