Move product options down above description?

This topic has been marked as not resolved.

I’m trying to achieve something similar to this: http://www.rbogert.com/Bermuda%20Blue_giclee.htm

Right now in Pavilion, the options display in a small area under price and to the right of the product image but I need the increased space available right above the description. I’ve not seen any way to change this through the CP. Would there be a way to accomplish this by editing the Pavilion template without radically changing things? I don’t mind transferring the edits to future upgrades as this is really critical to finishing this site.

Thanks for any guidance on this, my deadline looms (my fault!)

I’m having a lot of trouble. When i go to the Pavilion CP, Product Page and then Product Layouts while in Live Preview, none of the layout or design changes I make are reflected on the site. This is true in the preview and on the site itself. I’m saving the changes and the page refreshes but nothing changes. The only change that does work is the social buttons. I’m trying to make changes to help accomplish what I described in my OP above, but something just isn’t working. Design 3 from your documentation might just work for me if it would work.

I have a demo site that has nothing added but Pavilion and it has the same issue. I’m providing the login in hopes you can see what is wrong. I am supposed to have this done on Aug 15 so any assistance would be appreciated.

I’ve attached a screenshot of where I am working on the CP.

Hi,

We’ve checked your website and everything works fine. It is the interface that needs rework. Here are the steps that you need to do:

1) In Theme Settings > Store > Product page you need to choose:

- Page design – Design 3 in your case
- Layout – Product
- Column ratio – the one that suits you more

2) Then you need to click on the “Add layout” button

3) Then save theme settings.

4) Since product title and breadcrumbs are built-in, you will need to remove them from Page Builder > Intro > Layout: Product.

Thank you for your prompt reply – I’ve been able to fix that with your instructions. I seem to grasp the rest of the CP but I still don’t really understand that product layouts section. Do you have a more detailed tutorial on that? The documentation doesn’t really help me much on this.

For instance:

1. Are the designs static with the theme or can they be edited or augmented through the CP?
2. When adding a layout as you described, what determines that the new layout will be used and not the other three in the box below?
3. What does the “Product* Layout 2″ mean?
4. Can other page layouts be changed from there, even though it is called Product Settings? If not, why the select list with all the other layouts listed?

Basically, this section just confuses me and I haven’t been able to figure out the logic behind it using just your documentation. If there is a better explanation somewhere, I would love to see it.

Thanks.

Hi,

1) Designs are static and cannot be edited. An editor will be available with the upcoming major update.

2) When you add a new layout and save, it will overwrite the old one.

3) These are additional product layouts used as Layout override in Catalog > Products > Edit product > Design. This means that you can use different designs for different products.

4) We’ve listed all layouts to make the #3 possible.
