No hover effects in Chrome and Firefox

This topic has been marked as resolved.

Hello,

I bought the Pavilion theme a few days ago, only I am struggling all the time with hover effects on product pages, because in latest version Firefox and also Chrome (under W10) the hover effects on product pages are not working at all. Hover effect and color on images in banners for example on “home” are ok.

When using Microsoft Edge in W10, all hover effects are working on frontend, only when working in admin then I got an error using, page builder, content area, layout, product page:
{“success”:false,”message”:”Arguments error”,”reload”:0}

This error isn’t only on “product page”, but all pages under “layout”

All this running Wamp local, Opencart 2.0.3.1, Pavilion 1.2.5.
Also testing on Siteground server and same problems there with browsers and product page hover effects.

Thx,

Ray

Hi Ray,

1) We will need to check the hover problem live. Please, notify us once you upload your website on a location with public access.

2) Thanks for reporting this issue under Edge, we will need some time to find out what is the exact cause. You can use Chrome or Firefox until then.

Hi Ray,

We’ve checked your home page, a couple of category and product pages and haven’t noticed any wrong hover behavior. Where exactly (page, content block) do you see the problem? Can you give us a specific link?

P.S. You may want to apply the Facebook API patch attached here:

Hi,

Today I reinstalled my system from scratch after searching and searching for this problem.
I installed only Windows 10, Chrome, Opera and Firefox, none of these browsers work with hover effects.
But Tor browser, Edge and IE are working ok.

I go to the normal frontpage and hover over, nothing happens, no flip over, no image zooming (on product page), etc.

When I check OC hover extensions, themes and test demo’s, then these are working.
So it’s a very strange thing.

Ray

Hello,

I reproduced the problem.

I think it’s something in your cache system. I have hover transition and zoom problems with cache disabled.
But when I enable all cache under system, then clear cache button, empty on Wamp localhost/image/cache/ dir, in Chrome clear browser history (Firefox not necessary) all transitions work correct.

When update pages after editing I have to follow exact same procedure to keep it work.

Found here info about not loading css with cached images:

https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=539878&colspec=ID%20Pri%20M%20Stars%20ReleaseBlock%20Cr%20Status%20Owner%20Summary%20OS%20Modified

“What is the expected behavior?
Images transition smoothly from opacity 0 to 100 once the page has been loaded

What went wrong?
The transition plays only when the images are not in cache. Once they are cached no transition happens at all”

Strange thing is that I need cache system enabled and clear all cache from Pavilion theme and Wamp cache dir to keep it work.

Also when use in Pavilion theme, system “clear cache”, under /image/cache subdirs are not cleaned and files deleted.

Regards,

Ray

Btw, this hover transition only works for homepage with cleaning procedure.

Category page looks like: https://gyazo.com/1dd49fc5169ee7c57ce82def26da0b26
Product description need behind flip over.

Image hoover zoom on product page doesn’t work either.

All hover transitions problems in Firefox and Chrome has been solved with IE tab installed in both browsers!

I don’t know if this is the case in your situation but when developing websites i’ve had many situations were developing sites on a localhost (like WAMP) scripts have failed, to then work perfectly uploaded. If you haven’t you might want to upload the site to a test folder to see if its a local issue or something bigger.

Hi Frank,

Thanks for input and thinking.

I installed clean Opencart 2.0.3.1 store with Pavilion theme without demo data on Siteground server.

I set on homepage latest and featured products, some icons and product description set on hover.
With latest Firefox, Chrome and Opera it’s messed up, no transtion, image zoom or whatever at all.
see: https://gyazo.com/e8f66f06913eb36bdbb5ecb4760dba54

With Edge and IE everything ok. When using ie tab in Firefox and Chrome also ok.

Can you check: lego-kopenonline.eu and tell me what you see?

Thanks,

Ray

When moused-over latest products it swivels to show the description etc.
If you mouse-over the featured products it shows the description without the swivel animation. Seems to be working perectly. I tried it on IE11, FI and Chrome. No problems.

Frank

@spiruella

Are you using some king of hybrid device (touch + mouse)? Or maybe you are using Chrome developer tools with a custom browser user agent? There is a detection for touch devices that disables hover effects if a touch feature is available.

Hello,

Yes, I am using Samsung Ativ book 9 plus, it’s 3200×1800 resolution with touch screen, Windows 10 and bluetooth mouse.

Update: I disabled the touch screen for now in Windows device manager and needed reboot, but it’s working now on all pages.
Is it maybe possible with custom css code? That’s easier then disable and enable the touch screen and reboot again and again.

Thanks for great answer :-)

Hello support,

Thanks, I will use the code only on Wamp installation, not in live environment.

Also thanks for the best theme :-)

Ray
