At the very time when you gave us write permissions, the site started working. We did not touch anything. Coincidence ?

I bet the site will crash when you revoke the permissions.

I see that???

How does that make sense, any suggestions? This is just an FTP account, and at least in my book shouldn’t have any effect good or bad on the shop.

This has to be something connected with permissions or your server at all. We cannot say what. We are sure it’s not the theme. Better ask the server administrator for suggestions.

The most simple thing to ensure that our theme is not crashing your host it to open the admin panel. If it does not work, then there’s something connected with OpenCart or the underlying hosting. Pavilion does not alter admin files and even broken Pavilion would not prevent you from browsing the OpenCart admin.

I mark this topic as resolved. If you have further questions, which are not related to the current thread, please post a new topic.

Thanks,

It still makes no sense though. A pemission error as you suggest doesn’t compute either, as this would have resulted in a network error which there wasn’t.

Regarding your promise that the pavillon theme cannot have any adverse effects on an OpenCart installation! That is quite a stretch and it is definitely not true. (:this is the same for any other piece of php code you might run the server – just do an endless loop and you will see it crash without having to touch any of the opencart files, admin or otherwise).

But I like your confidence:-)

Thanks again

Best regards,

Tonny

What I tried to say is that Pavilion (I assume it’s uploaded properly at least) would not prevent you from opening the OpenCart admin dashboard even if Pavilion files are broken with endless loops or whatever errors you may think out. The admin panel functioning does not involve including Pavilion files unless you open the Pavilion CP. That’s why I proposed to test with the admin Page for the site availability.

Don’t see any stretch here or unjustified confidence. This is valid for any piece of code that does not hook to the admin panel directly, but waits for a certain action (i.e. opening the corresponding module), which is the case with Pavilion.

To be honest the FTP permission issues that break the site do not really make sense at first sight. We just suppose the issues are server related, which falls outside the scope of the support this forum offers. There are countless server configurations and we prefer to leave these issues to the people who are paid to solve them – the server administrators.

Hope you can start using the theme after all :)

Best,
ThemeBurn team
