Search not working properly?

Hi there, I’m noticing something strange with the search. Basically some specific search terms result in products that have nothing to do with the terms. For instance, searching for coffee results in different products. Take a look: http://www.theportugalonlineshop.com/index.php?route=product/search&search=coffee You’ll notice all kind of products that are not coffee at all… Any ideas why?	portugalonlineshop

Hi, Unfortunately, we’ve never dig into how OpenCart generates search results. What we are certain is that Shoppica does not alter search results and this problem is not related with theme. Have tried to use the default theme to make a quick comparison? What we can suggest here is to use some third party search extension that gives better results. BR, ThemeBurn team	TB Support

Hi and thanks! Yes, i was suspecting that this was not a shoppica issue, but nonetheless i wanted to be sure.. I’ll post it on OC foruns too. In the meantime, there are so many search extensions, any that you suggest that may work well with shoppica? I’m afraid to use some that will not work with it somehow. I specially enjoy livesearch kinds, with ajax requests, so much easier to deal with. Thanks!	portugalonlineshop

Hi, We’ve tested this one: http://support.themeburn.com/topic/smart-search It works nicely with Pavilion without any additional conversion and should work with Shoppica too. BR, ThemeBurn team	TB Support
