shoppica 2 on top of vqmod doesn't work

I had a fresh install of opencart 1.5.4.1 and vqmod 2.2. Everything worked. I uploaded shoppica 2 files, make changes to index.php as instructed, and enable shoppica. Got a warning saying that shoppica 2 was not properly installed/configured. The only way I can get around this is to remove vqmod stuff from index.php.

Any ideas?

We tested Shoppica2 with the latest version of vqmod and we didn’t find any issues. Try to empty the shoppica2541/vqmod/vqcache/ folder and to delete the shoppica2541/vqmod/mods.cache file.
