Hi Guys, Still on Vers.1 (but latest Oct issue of 1)
I have just been told of an error a customer(s) get when altering the shopping basket – updating…
Warning: Illegal offset type in isset or empty in /home/g/r/graceemmersonoc/public_html/shop/system/library/cart.php on line 275Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/g/r/graceemmersonoc/public_html/shop/index.php:100) in /home/g/r/graceemmersonoc/public_html/shop/system/engine/controller.php on line 28Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/g/r/graceemmersonoc/public_html/shop/index.php:100) in /home/g/r/graceemmersonoc/public_html/shop/system/engine/controller.php on line 29
If you go back its all working BUT a bit off putting to a customer, is this a bug and by updating the theme will it fix it? Lastly when I update the theme is it better just to redownload V2 and add as a NEW theme (can i do that to test on the live site with just me using the NEW theme??)
Thanks for your answers.
Rob (love this theme by the way!)

Hi,
this seems like an opencart issue, which is not related to Shoppica. You could try with the default opencart theme to see if the bug is still there.
As stated in the documentation, you could use Shoppica 2 along with Shoppica 1, just be sure to do everything according to the docs

Thanks for the reply, so just to be sure I can install V2 as a seperate theme and check / change before completely changing – is that right? I didnt think this error was theme related.

Yes, you could install v2 as a separate theme and change between v1 and v2. This functionality is supported and tested.

Thanks TB – I have just noticed that the error is appearing ONLY when you try to “remove” (using the tick box) the product in the cart – you can add quantities etc and update and all good… any thoughts as I dont really want to go down the route of installing the V2 if I dont really need to (yet – will in obviously in the future…)

It seems this is a Shoppica bug actually. I noticed you are using Shoppica 1.0.11 which is not the latest Shoppica version. Can you update to the latest version, it should fix this bug (and several others also) ?
You could also read this reply if you are looking for this particular fix only.

ThemeBurn tea,

Thanks TB, Sorry for the long delay in answering!!
Just to clarify I can add the NEWEST version (responsive vers) as another theme – at the same time as the existing one is appearing to “normal” customers BEFORE I use the new one as default… correct?…
By the way the fix mentioned above (another post) worked great for now.
Thanks
Rob.

Hi Rob,
Yes, you can have both Shoppica 1 and 2 installed on the same store. They are basically treated like different themes.
Of course, it is recommended to always backup before you play with your existing store. Everybody can replace something
Best,
