This topic has been marked as resolved.
Dear ThemeBurn support, I´m trying to adjust the details for the robots.txt file for my Opencart webshop, so it´s working as good as possible together with Google webmaster tools. I still get varnings for double meta descriptions and also double heading tags regarding to following: ?sort=p.model&order=ASC My robots.txt details is as following: user-agent: * Do you guys have some tips to avoid the errors? Do I need to complete the robots.txt file with some more details? Best regards |

Hi Thomas, We haven’t made any experiments about disallowing routes in robots.txt. There are a couple of handy topics in the official OpenCart forums that discuss the same problem: https://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=39828 BR, |

Thanks for your answer! I have really tried to read about this but without success… Google seems to index all of the different sort results, and that´s what I have “problem” with. I don´t know how it´s working “behind the scenes” but if feels like the sort function should be disabled. Maybe it´s wrong solution, but what do you think happen if I disable the sort function in my web shop? Is this one option to do? Best regards Thomas |

Hi Thomas, Please have in mind that once indexed, it may take some time to get these pages out of Google’s database. We’ve attached the robots file that we use in several projects and works with us. It is not different from what you’ve posted though. BR, |
